Introduction

The production of three-phase, alternating current induction motors began in the factory in 1894. It is hard to find any areas in industry and electric traction where CG Electric Systems Hungary Zrt.’s (previously GANZ) updated standrard motors or special application motors are not used.

Through the 90’s we have developed more advanced motors with decreased total weight, increased efficiency, low noise level for satisfying the actual needs of the market and all conditions of the industrial application and being conform with IEC and NEMA standards.

Due to the new insulating procedure called „Micasystem”, beside the standard design, our motors can be offered in EExe, EExp and EExn versions for hazardous area applications (e.g. nuclear power) according to ATEX or in case of request IECex as well with EAC certification.

Our main products are slip ring and cage induction motors (from 450 mm up to 1400 mm frame size) but synchronous motors with the similar frame limits are also within our production scope. In addition we are able to manufacture special machines that are above the mentioned frame size.

Besides supplying the motor itself we can offer our machine in package with starter equipments of internationally claimed manufacturers.

We can offer our cage motors for being suitable for variable frequency drive duty.

One of our traditionally proved strenght is the ability to design and manufacture motors that are totally interchangeable with other motor manufacturer’s products.

We are permanent supplier of OEM companies such as GE or Bentec.

We are proud of our long history co-operation with traditional brands such as Bombardier, Andritz, Nidec or Leroy Sommer in terms of component manufacturing.

One of our recent developement is a brand new designed, two-pole compact motor series offered for starting of gas turbines and pump drives.

We have a long history experience in manufacturing of high voltage motors for 3rd and 4th safety class earthquake-proof nuclear power plants within Hungary and worldwide as well.

Cooling methods offered by us: open, ventilated; air-to-air heat exchange; air-to-water heat exchange

Structure: horizontal or vertical shaft structure

Protection class: IP23-IP55, in special cases we can also offer IP 65

Bearing: grease lubricated roller bearing, oil lubricated slide bearing

Supported industries and applications: power plants, cement industry, steel industry, mining, oil industry, compressor application, mill application, crushing (shredder) application, fan and pump application etc.

1892- Starting the manufacture of Electric Traction (DC mine engines)
1893- Tree phase Electric Traction introduced (Kálmán Kandó)

1895-  The first DC driven tram comissioned ( Bratislava)

1923- Phase-converter induction motor driven electric engine developed
1929- Parallel slot turbogenerator introduced (43MVA, largest on the World that time)
1929- Start of double -cage induction motor manufacturing
1948- Introduction of the cross-coils rotor turbogenerators
1960- Invention of the Hydrogen-cooled turbogenerators 
1970- Introduction of the modular system induction motor series
1976- Manufacturing of the 5000HP electric engine
1994- Air-cooled turbogenerator from 20 up to 70MVA
1998- Development of double-cage induction motor for twin-drives first on the world
2001- Developed 1MW ExN Non-sparking  gasturbine starter motors  for GE 
2001- Development of AT series VFD driven AC traction motors for trolleybuses
2010- Start of  manufacturing   Safety Class 3&4 motors for Nuclear Power Plants
2018- Developing VFD-driven Increased Safety LVAC motors for driving OEM pumps used in  Oil&gas fields
2019- Manufacturing of 2 pcs of 69 MVA hydro generators (the largest generators in the history of the company)
